Reining

2021: I officially have reined for a year under the guidance of Ollie Galligan and had my horse, Wally (Walla Great Pine), for almost a year.  Being on a team like Galligan Performance Horses has been a gift. Everyone was welcoming and helpful from the start and I learned so much from Ollie, the team and staff. I've been given opportunities and experiences beyond what I could have imagined a year ago, and I couldn't be more thankful for this sport and these horses. Horse ownership and learning reining as a sport continue to teach me so much about persevering and responsibility. Even though riding and schooling have come fairly naturally to me, showing didn’t in the beginning. When I was able to trust myself and my horse without overthinking it, we began to succeed.

2022: Using the skills I acquired during the 2021 season and off-season, I am now taking on the challenge of showing my new 4-year-old quarter horse, Gotta Silver Gun AKA Blu. Though he is very talented, the beginning of our showing partnership has been challenging due to extenuating circumstances, however, I am proud of the progress we have made. I look forward to riding and showing him in the upcoming 2023 competitions.

2023: Senior year and my last youth year was a rollercoaster. It was challenging but extremely rewarding to see much of my hard work pay off. It was fantastic to show Blu and for the first time qualify for TRFAM rookie class. Due to scheduling conflicts I was not able to go to the show but to even qualify was fantastic. With my youth year ending and being in college, my family decided to sell Blu fall of 2023 but I am so thankful for all he taught me.
